JD Classics, seasoned experts in historic motorsport, will be fielding five entries to this year’s Le Mans Legend race, following an impressive overall victory at the event in 2013.

This year’s Le Mans Legend is open to competition cars built between 1949 and 1968, with more than sixty classic car entrants in six different classes. With so many historic cars on track, the racing is always tight and frenetic, making JD Classics’ 2013 victory all the more impressive, when Alex Buncombe took the chequered flag in a Costin Lister (below) 43 seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

Forming the JD Classics driver team for Le Mans Legend this year are a host of experienced classic racing drivers, including Wil Arif in the XK120, Steve Soper in the E-Type and John Young in the team’s C-Type. JD Classics’ founder, Derek Hood, and the company’s resident racing driver, Chris Ward, will be taking to the track in the Cooper T33 Jaguar (top) and Lister Costin respectively.

Carefully prepared by JD Classics’ Competition Department in Maldon, Essex, each of the team’s entries has an impressive race history. The C-Type has notched up victories at Le Mans Classic and Monaco Historique, while this year alone the Cooper T33 Jaguar and Costin Lister both posted the fastest laps of their respective races at Donington Historic Festival, where the E-Type also finished third in its race.
