Museum Profile

The National Motorcycle Museum is the largest classic motorcycle museums in the world, holding many important, rare and historic bikes – from early pioneering machines to racing legends and record breakers.

In 2003 the museum suffered a fire which damaged 400 classic motorcycles. However, through the dedication of the museum and its supporters the museums has been rebuilt, with it reopening in 2004.

Since then most of those bikes have been restored and it is now home to over 650 classic machines.

As they say: “The motorcycle industry was until recently one of Britain’s great engineering achievements and we have done our best to create a comprehensive collection of historic machines.”
